KOKRAJHAR, June 7: Stage is set for by-poll to Koklabari Assembly constituency (ST) in Baksa district to be held on Wednesday.
All poll personnel have reached their respective destinations on Tuesday evening.
A strict security vigil has been made along the Koklabari constituency to ensure a free and fair election.
Notably, the by-poll for the Koklabari constituency is necessitated following BTR CEM Pramod Boro’s resignation as an MLA from the Koklabari constituency after becoming CEM of BTR.
The poll will start at 7:30 am on Wednesday and counting will be held on June 12.
There are four candidates in fray from different parties including ruling UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance candidate Mantu Boro, Shangkhar Basumatary (BPF), Hiren Sarania and Laba Basumatary (Independent).
Nearly 72,000 voters will decide the fate of these four candidates.
UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance party’s candidate Mantu Boro is hopeful of having the last laugh as citizens are extending their massive support in the favour of the UPPL-BJP-BSP alliance party.
