DIBRUGARH, July 31: The family members of the deceased Bhim Rajak have requested state chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to intervene in the mysterious death of Bhim Rajak to help them secure justice.
Bhim Rajak, the manager of Dibrugarh Gymkhana Club, was found hanging in one of the rooms of the club on July 17, 2024.
The family members have filed an FIR at Dibrugarh Police Station against the accused persons, but no arrests have been made to date.
Bhushan Rajak, the brother of Bhim Rajak, alleged, “My brother was murdered in a planned manner. He was mentally tortured by some members of the club. We want justice and therefore, like in the Vineet Bagaria case, we request chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to intervene and help us get justice.”
“For the last 15 years, he had been working as the manager of the club. His behaviour towards everyone was equal. We suspect that some foul play occurred. The CCTV cameras had no footage on that particular date as they were not functioning. We suspect that he was murdered,” Bhushan Rajak added.
The FIR filed by Bhim Rajak names Sanjib Sur, the club president, Sachin Kacharia, and Rajen Lohia.
“No arrests have been made so far. We want the accused to be arrested. There is no law for poor people, but we will fight until my brother gets justice,” Rajak said.
Meanwhile, Dibrugarh Gymkhana Club has not issued any press statement regarding the incident.
