78th I-Day Celebration: Flag hoisting duties allocated across state

GUWAHATI, Aug 13: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma notified the names of those tasked with hoisting of the prestigious National Flag hoisting on Tuesday.

As per Sarma, this has been done for the proper streamlining of the event and to avoid any degree of mishap.

The CM himself will be hoisting the National Flag in Guwahati. Atul Bora, minister of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry & veterinary, will hoist the flag in Nagaon, while other veteran leaders like Chandra Mohan Patowary, minister of environment and forest, Dr Ranoj Pegu, education minister, and Ajanta Neog, finance minister, will hoist the Flag in Kamrup, Lakhimpur, and Golaghat respectively.

Ranjeet Kumar Dass, minister of P&RD, UG Brahma, minister of handloom & textile, Keshab Mahanta, minister of transport, Ashok Singhal, minister DoHUA, Jogen Mohan, minister R&DM, Pijush Hazarika, minister of Water Resources, Jayanta Mallabaruah, minister PHE, and Tuliram Ronghang, CEM KAAC, will fulfil their duty in Bongaigon, Darrang, Hojai, Sonitpur, Jorhat, Goalpara, Nalbari, and Diphu respectively.

Other notable leaders like Sanjay Kishan, minister of labour welfare, Bimal Borah, minister of IC&PE, Nandita Gorlosa, minister of power, Pramod Boro, CEM BTC, Debolal Gorlosa, CEM NCHAC, Gobinda Chandra Basumatary, Dy CEM, BTC, and Numal Momin, Dy Speaker, ALA, will undertake the esteemed duty in Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Silchar, Kokrajhar, Haflong, Udalguri, and Charaideo, a press release said.
