Sub junior boys National football Championship begins at Jorhat Stadium

Jorhat, Sept 8: Assam and Telengana entered into the second round defeating Madhya Pradesh and Lakshyadeep respectively in National Football Championship (Sub Junior Boys). In the inaugural match played in the ground of Jorhat Stadium on September 7, Assam defeated Madhya Pradesh by 6-1 goals and Telengana beat Lakshyadeep by 7-3 goals. Semual Daimari netted 2 goals and Rahul Balmiki, Tonmoy Borua, Sahir Kumar, and Tomash Daimari netted one goal each in favour of host team Assam.
Solitaire goal for Madhya Pradesh was scored by Rohit Kumar. Earlier, in the morning match Sayad Riyan netted 4 goals (with hatrick), Faizal Khan two and Mustafa Khan one goal lead the Telengana to win the match. Sinap, Thopic, M Yasin scored one goal each in favour of Lakshyadeep. The national championship tournament was inaugurated by Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Port and shipping water wayes where Naba Kumar Doley president, Assam Olympic Association, Rupjyoti Kurmi MLA and many dignitaries were present. Notably the final match will be played on September 20 at Jorhat Stadium. Around 500 players and officials are participate from 17 States in the game. Jorhat District Sports Association act as a host in the mega game.
