GUWAHATI, Sept 29: The Headquarters Research and Development Establishment (BRO) in Shillong spearheaded a successful ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign’, a significant cleanliness initiative aimed at fostering environmental awareness on Sunday.
The event attracted enthusiastic participation from officers and personnel, who gathered early in the morning at Umiam Lake, a popular tourist spot and vital water reservoir for the region.

During the event, Chief Engineer Rajeev Dua delivered an inspiring address, underscoring the importance of maintaining cleanliness in public spaces and encouraging individual responsibility in promoting a cleaner environment. He noted that such initiatives not only enhance the area’s natural beauty but also contribute to public health and well-being.
Participants were organized into teams, each assigned specific sections around the lake. Equipped with gloves, garbage bags, and cleaning tools, the teams worked diligently to clear litter, plastic waste, and other debris from the area.
