DIPHU, July 11: Following the order of the secretary, Department of Revenue, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) that there is every likelihood of re-encroachment of the vacated land allotted for the construction of the Judicial Court complex at 5th Miles, Baliram Terang village, Lumding Road, the deputy commissioner Dibakar Nath on Monday imposed 144 CrPC within the evicted land in order to control the probable law and order situation.
Strict vigil in the evicted area will be carried out to prevent encroachers trying to enter the area, the order said.

Meanwhile, the evicted families of Rongpangthir village said that Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) authority had assured to rehabilitate the 11 landless families by providing land and basic amenities at the new site at On Bey Village, Lumding Road.
On July 2 last, as per a High Court order the Land & Revenue Department of KAAC took out an eviction drive against the 35 families settling illegally at District Judicial Court Complex at Rongpangthir, Lumding Road.
The KAAC has allotted the land for construction of the Court Complex.
The assurance was given when the 11 landless families met the chief executive member (CEM), KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang in this connection.
After meeting the CEM, the president of Rongpangthir Village, Johnson Teron said, “The CEM assured us that for rehabilitation measures land will be provided to 11 landless families. Rs 1 lakh and tin sheets will be provided for construction of houses. Roads, electricity, ring well, place of worship and culvert will be provided to the villagers.”
According to Teron, the Lumbajong Member of Autonomous Council (MAC), Johnny Timung, who is a resident of On Bey village, would supervise the relocation process of the 11 families.
