GUWAHATI, Nov 21: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired a meeting to review the planning and execution strategies for the Assam Global Investors’ and Infrastructure Summit, titled ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) announced on Thursday.
The event, scheduled to be held on February 24-25, 2025, aims to position Assam as a leading business and investment hub in India.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed the need for a collaborative approach to highlight Assam’s unique strengths and untapped potential. Dr. Sarma urged all stakeholders to focus on meticulous planning and effective coordination to ensure the summit’s success.
Taking to the micro-blogging site X, the CMO stated, “The summit aims to accelerate Assam’s growth, with a focus on key areas such as core sectors, partner countries, and other critical aspects.”
Additionally, the summit will prioritize core sectors integral to the state’s economy, establish partnerships with leading countries, and focus on enhancing infrastructure.
Discussions also revolved around showcasing Assam’s unique resources, cultural heritage, and investment opportunities.
The upcoming edition is expected to bring in global investors and open avenues for large-scale projects, contributing to Assam’s economic growth and employment generation.
“HCM emphasized the importance of collective efforts to highlight Assam’s unique strengths and its potential as a vibrant and developed business destination. He urged all stakeholders to ensure meticulous planning and coordination to maximize the summit’s impact and outcomes”, the CMO added.
