NAGAON, Feb 9: Local MLA of Nagaon Batadroba assembly constituency, Rupak Sarma, ceremonially laid the foundation stone for the main college gate of Khagarijan College here on Sunday.
The president of the governing body, Dr Dilip Sarma, along with Ex-principal and teacher Arun Bikash Dutta, Chitra Bora, Selima Sultana Khandakar, Mamoni Bhuyan, senior scribe Kanak Hazarika, as well as teachers, students, and noted dignitaries from the locality, attended the event.
Rupak Sarma, in his speech, elaborated on the importance of education and the progress of colleges in Nagaon town.
He also emphasised the judicious use of mobile phones and their effects on the present generation.
He highlighted that reading books can shape the mind, enhance knowledge, and provide valuable information in a challenging environment.
The felicitation ceremony was initiated by the principal of Khagarijan College, Dr Ramesh Nath, and the event was mentored by Rayhanul Ahmed of Khagarijan College.
