Hojai Police apprehends PLA cadre

HOJAI, Feb 11:  The Hojai Police apprehended one cadre of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), Manipur, an unlawful and banned organization under Section 3 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

 Hojai SP said that police has apprehended one Yaikhom Tondonba Singh alias Pibatong, aged 29 years.

SP said an operation was carried out based on credible intelligence inputs and technical surveillance. It was executed with precision, ensuring the safe capture of the individual without any collateral damage. 

SP said preliminary investigations have revealed that Yaikhom Tondonba Singh has been wanted in connection with several terrorist cases. He has been actively involved in insurgent activities, posing a significant threat to national security.

“Following his apprehension, central investigative organisations have conducted thorough interrogations. Valuable information regarding his past involvement in insurgent activities and connections within the PLA has been obtained. This intelligence will aid to ongoing operations against insurgent networks and contribute to dismantling terror infrastructures,” SP added.

He further said the security forces remain committed to safeguarding the nation’s integrity and will continue their efforts to neutralize threats posed by unlawful organisations.
