DONGKAMUKAM, Feb 19: Rising theft in certain rural areas of West Karbi Anglong has raised grave concern among conscious citizens of the district.
In certain areas people are spending sleepless nights looking after their belongings. When people do vigil in a particular village at night then it seems they select the other village for their activities. Villagers suspected that there might be some villagers acting as informers in the group. When enquired by this reporter about information given to the Police so far they refused to reveal.

During the past few days various items were stolen from Bhellapara Catholic Church like m Keyboard, sound system and cooking utensils. Moreover, few mounds of paddy from the Paddy store in the Bhellapara area were also shiphoned off. After a few days, half a dozen cows from Mugasong and on Tuesday Water spray Motors of Satgaon area were stolen.
Sources revealed that many such cases go unreported and that one has to remain vigilant all the time.
