ABSU’s 57th annual conference to begin at Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma

KOKRAJHAR, March 12: The Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma in Kokrajhar district is all set to host the 57th annual conference of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) and 56th annual conference of the Kokrajhar district committee, ABSU which is scheduled to be held with a four-day long vibrant programme from March 13.

On the first day of the conference, on Thursday, the main pandal of the conference, delegate session hall, guest house, exhibition venue will be inaugurated by the invited guests.

More than 6000 delegates and observers from 22 different districts of the state, and unit committees of the students union are participating in the event.

Necessary preparations and arrangements for the vibrant event is nearly complete to host the conference.

The reception committee and several sub committees are rendering their relentless services for the smooth successful completion of the grand event.

Several competition and programmes including exhibition, space science exhibition, literary competition, games & sports, cultural competitions are organising to mark the grand event of the conference.

A multi community cultural demonstration would also be showcased during the event, representing different communities across the state.

The convention will witness a series of educational sessions, literary activities, cultural programs, and key discussions on various issues concerning the Bodo community.

The highlight of the event will be the Open Session on March 16, where Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend as the chief guest.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro, and several ministers and MLAs will also be present.

The session is expected to draw an estimate of two lakh attendees across the region.

On March 14, Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan will take part in an interactive session with students, addressing key educational concerns and policies.

On Wednesday, Pramod Boro, the chief executive member of Bodoland Territorial Region, accompanied by MLA and chairman of the reception committee, Lawrence Islary, and All Bodo Students Union  president Dipen Boro had visited the Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma, venue of the ABSU conference.

He has assessed the conference venue to take stock about the progress of the preparation and arrangements to meet a grand smooth successful in a grand manner.

CEM Boro stated that the ABSU conference is being held at the Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma which is the birthplace of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma.

He said that the conference will witness a series of educational sessions, literary activities, cultural programs, and key discussions on various issues concerning the Bodo community.

He said that Union Home Minister, Amit Shah is gracing the grand as chief guest on the open session of the conference on March 16.

He informed that the preparation and arrangements for the conference is completed this evening.

ABSU president, Dipen Boro told that the conference will be witnessed a grand participation student fraternities,peoples cutting across the communities from the state as well national level.

He said that the event will be a historic as Union Home Minister, Amit Shah is gracing the event as chief guest.

He has appealed to all sections of the society to attend the event and cooperate to make the conference a grand success.

MLA and chairman of the reception committee of the conference, Lawrence Islary stated that the ABSU conference is scheduled to be held at the Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma in Kokrajhar with a four-day long vibrant programmes. He said that all kinds of preparation and arrangements are so far completed to host the grand event.
