KOKRAJHAR, March 15: The president of the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU), Dipen Boro has urged the government for the proper implementation of the BTR Accord 2020 (Bodo Peace Accord) during the ongoing 57th annual conference being held at the Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma in Kokrajhar district.
The ongoing conference of the students union on Saturday entered the third day which started on March 13 with four-day colourful programme scheduled.
On the second day of the event,on Friday ABSU president Dipen Boro hoisted union flag followed by floral tributes to Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, former president of the ABSU and martyrs.
A march-past was presented by the student contingents, NCC members in the flag hoisting ceremony amidst presence of huge gathering of the delegates, observers and participants.
ABSU president Dipen Boro stated that the conference has received a good response as more than 6000 delegates and observers taking part in the event.
He has opined that the peoples from the area and students union is looking forward a properly implementation of the BTR accord clauses with letter and spirit of the historic BTR Peace Accord that was signed on January 27 in 2020.
He emphasised several key demands, including Amendment of Article 125 to provide more autonomy and powers to the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), inclusion of more villages into the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) as per the provisions of the BTR Accord, withdrawal of cases against former members of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) and the release of NDFB leaders still imprisoned, granting of Scheduled Tribe (Hill) status to Bodo Kacharis of Karbi Anglong among other demands.
The ABSU has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the full realisation of the BTR Accord and urged both the state and central governments to act on their promises.
An interactive session with students at the Education & Youth Conclave on the theme “Empowering Youth for a Vibrant Bodoland Region and a Vikshit Bharat” was organised on Friday with Dipen Boro, president of the ABSU in the chair.
Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, BTR chief executive member, Pramod Boro, former director of CBPO, Dr Sudhir Kumar, cabinet minister, Urkhao Gwra Brahma,and several dignataries were present in the event.
Addressing the gathering, Pegu acknowledged ABSU’s significant role in shaping Assam’s educational landscape.
He emphasized the need for collective efforts to create a progressive Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and contribute to a Vikshit Bharat (Developed India).
The minister underscored the importance of aligning education with industry demands, stating that “NEP 2020 highlights skill development, entrepreneurship, and career independence.
Fostering self-reliance among youth through job creation and entrepreneurial opportunities is crucial for a prosperous future.”
CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro said that the language and education of the tribal peoples must have be uplifted in all aspects of the society.
He said that the government of BTR is rendering services towards the welfare and development of the citizens across the region.
On Saturday, a get-together of the former leaders and workers of the ABSU was held with ABSU president Dipen Boro in the chair.
Cabinet minister, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro, Assam Assembly speaker, Biswajit Daimary,MPs Rwngwra Narzary, Joyanta Basumatary,and several dignataries were present in the event.
CEM of BTR, Pramod Boro said that the a get together of the former leaders and workers of the students union was organised on the occasion that marked a grand participation across the state.
The event withessesd a good discussion and sharing of views on bringing healthy ushering of sustainable development among the community.

On Sunday, Union home minister, Amit Shah, chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, CEM of Bodoland Territorial Region, Pramod Boro are gracing as chief guest,I special guests on the concluding day of the conference.
Union Home Minister, Shsh will be landed in a special Helicopter at Bodofa Fwthar, Dotma in Kokrajhar.
Necessary preparation and arrangements along with security deployments are so far made to accord warm welcome to Union home minister.
The district administration and police administration in Kokrajhar have deployed security vigil along the conference venue to meet a smooth and peaceful sucessful of the conference.
The open session of the ABSU’s conference will be witnessed gathering of more than 1.5 lakh public from across the state.
