DHUBRI, April 24: In a powerful artistic response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of several tourists, artists in Dhubri have taken to the streets to voice their anguish and condemnation through evocative street art.

The protest, held along NS Road in Dhubri, saw local artists transforming public walls into poignant canvases.

With brushes and bold colors, they painted murals expressing grief, outrage, and a collective call for peace.

The artworks served as a striking visual denunciation of terrorism and a heartfelt tribute to the victims.

Among those who participated was 90-year-old Arjun Sharma, whose presence became a symbol of intergenerational solidarity.

Despite his age, Sharma joined younger artists in painting, driven by what he described as a moral duty to speak out through art.

His involvement deeply moved onlookers and fellow artists alike.

The messages depicted were stark and emotionally charged.

One mural read, “Pahalgam’s murder is not the best thing to do,” expressing the futility and cruelty of violence.

Another, reading “Animals don’t do this,” drew a powerful contrast between human compassion and the brutality of the attack, underscoring the artists’ horror at the inhumanity of the act.

The artistic community in Dhubri also used the protest to call for an immediate and resolute response to terrorism.

Through their creative expression, they sought not only to condemn the attack but also to amplify the demand for justice and the need for societal unity in the face of such tragedy.

The murals are expected to remain on display, standing as a lasting tribute to the victims and a reminder of the artists’ solidarity and resilience in the face of violence.
