GUWAHATI, May 17: Prajanmya Unmesh, a noted socio-cultural organization of Assam, continues to make remarkable contributions beyond the cultural arena, earning appreciation from citizens for its multifaceted initiatives. The organization recently felicitated several meritorious students who passed the Higher Secondary examinations with distinction.
Among those specially recognized were Nilakshi Bhuyan in the Arts stream and Gaurav Sharma in the Science stream, both of whom were warmly felicitated for their exceptional academic achievements.
Led by Arup Saikia, Chief Executive of Prajanmya Unmesh and an internationally acclaimed Bhaona artist, the members of the organization visited the homes of several deserving students—especially those from underprivileged backgrounds—to personally offer their congratulations and encouragement.
Speaking to this correspondent, Arup Saikia said that the organization not only recognizes academic excellence but also identifies culturally active students to involve them in cultural showcases both in India and abroad. “We believe in nurturing talent that balances academic and cultural brilliance,” he remarked.
One of Prajanmya Unmesh’s unique initiatives is the performance of traditional Assamese Bhaona in the English language, aiming to bring Assam’s rich cultural heritage to global audiences. These performances are directed by Arup Saikia himself.
The local community has expressed appreciation for Prajanmya Unmesh’s continued efforts in promoting education, culture, and social welfare, praising the group for combining tradition with modern outreach.
