NAMSAI, May 31: The Inter-Battalion Yoga Competition hosted at the 186 Battalion Core Hub Camp Complex in Jajapur, Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh, concluded recently with a vibrant closing ceremony held on May 27.
The event was organised to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being among Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.
According to an official statement, the event saw participation and support from various dignitaries, including D.S. Hernwal, Rector of Arunachal University of Studies; Ajay Jha, Professor and Vice Chancellor of the same university; Tongke Ering, Yoga Trainer from Patanjali Yogpeeth; and Nang Sujata Namchoom, Principal of Blooming Buds Public School, Namsai.
Their presence added significance to the occasion.
Commandant of the 186 Battalion, Dharmendra Kumar Singh, welcomed all the guests and expressed sincere gratitude for their attendance.
Students from Blooming Buds Public School were also invited to the event and delivered a well-received band performance during the closing ceremony, showcasing youthful energy and discipline.
Senior CRPF officials, including Shri Bipin Kumar Singh (2nd-in-Command, Administration), Sandip Sharma (2nd-in-Command, Operations), K N Haldhar (Deputy Commandant), Ch Lakshmi Manasa (Senior Medical Officer, Deputy Commandant), Karpoor Babala (Assistant Commandant), and S Seema Devi (Assistant Commandant), along with subordinate officers and jawans of the 186 Battalion, were present at the event.
In the competition results, Team 186 Battalion emerged as the winner, while Team 142 Battalion secured the first runners-up position and Team 68 Battalion was declared the second runners-up.
All participating teams were congratulated for their spirited involvement and sportsmanship.
The competition underscored the CRPF’s ongoing commitment to promoting holistic fitness and mindfulness among its personnel through yoga and related initiatives.
