JAGIROAD, June 7: In a successful crackdown on mobile phone theft, Jagiroad Police arrested five individuals and recovered 11 stolen mobile phones in a late-night operation.
The action was initiated after a woman named Bandana Das lodged a complaint about her missing phone. Acting swiftly, police traced one of the stolen phones to the residence of Suresh Boro of Madhavnagar, under Jagiroad Police Station. During the search, officers discovered three additional stolen mobile phones concealed in his home.
Further investigation led to the arrest of four more individuals—Atabur Rahman, Akhtar Hussain, and Rafiqul Ali from Boha Pahar (Jagiroad), and Zubaid Alam from Mangaldai. Seven more stolen mobile phones were recovered from their possession.
Police have launched a detailed investigation to uncover the full extent of the theft ring and trace any other stolen property. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report thefts promptly.
