ITANAGAR, July 3: In view of public safety concerns, the Capital District Administration has issued a travel advisory restricting movement and parking along the Arunachal Pradesh Civil Secretariat boundary wall near National Highway 415.
The advisory was issued after visible cracks were detected on the wall, raising serious safety concerns for commuters and parked vehicles in the vicinity.

The information was conveyed in an official statement by Capital Deputy Commissioner Toko Babu.
Addressing the media at his office on Thursday, DC Babu said the decision followed a high-level meeting held with officials from the General Administration Department, Secretary of AP Civil Secretariat Komkar Dulom, the Highway Department, Public Works Department (PWD), and other key stakeholders.
The meeting concluded that immediate precautions were necessary to prevent any untoward incident due to the deteriorating condition of the wall.
“The said area has become risky. Hence, as a safety measure, movement and parking have been prohibited near the AP Secretariat wall,” said DC Babu.
He emphasised that the order is an appeal to the public, urging them not to park vehicles or walk close to the Secretariat boundary wall until further notice.
The boundary wall in question, which runs alongside NH-415, has developed visible structural cracks, prompting concern among authorities.
In response, the Traffic Police have placed warning signs and barricades to inform and guide commuters.
Banners have also been erected by the PWD branch of the AP Civil Secretariat to ensure that the public remains aware of the danger and complies with the advisory.
In addition to the parking and movement ban, the footpath along the wall has been closed for pedestrian use.
No vehicles will be allowed to park between the footpath and the highway, the DC added.
DC Babu further urged the public to remain vigilant. “Everyone is requested to stay alert to prevent any accidents or loss of life. While traffic personnel will be on duty to manage the situation, commuters themselves must be cautious,” he said.
According to the advisory, the restrictions will remain in place until the wall is repaired by the PWD and certified safe by a joint committee comprising officials from the DC office and the Traffic Police.
The Capital District Administration reiterated that public cooperation is essential in maintaining safety near high-risk zones and assured that repair work would be taken up at the earliest to minimise inconvenience.
