Nagaon social worker receives Phule Award

NAGAON, July 7: Nagaon-based social worker Nanu Das has been conferred with the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Educational Award in recognition of his contributions to social work and promotion of education and welfare in the community.

The award was presented by the Ambedkar Foundation, Assam, at a ceremony held at the Dr Madhav Chandra Das Auditorium of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat.

The programme was presided over by Jayanta Das Shastri, President of the Ambedkar Foundation.

Krishna Kant Bora, Organising Secretary of the National Kisan Sangha, attended the event as chief guest, while Pradeep Rajkhowa, General Secretary of the Jorhat district unit of Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad, was present as a special guest.

The award recognises Das’s sustained efforts in advancing social causes and education within his community.
