NAGAON, July 8: A 15-day summer cultural workshop for students is currently underway in Nagaon district, organised by the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Government of Assam, in collaboration with the Nagaon district administration.
The workshop began on Tuesday in the Nagaon-Batadroba, Rupahi, and Dhing assembly constituencies.
Aimed at promoting the mental, physical, and creative development of students from Classes VI to XII, the programme includes training in dance, drama, music, yoga, meditation, mask-making, terracotta, and other physical activities.
As part of a state-wide initiative led by chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, two cultural workshops will be held in every assembly constituency across Assam.
In Nagaon-Batadroba, the workshop was inaugurated by MLA Rupak Sarma at the Sangeet Shilpi Mancha auditorium.
Sarma encouraged the students to contribute meaningfully to the cultural development of the district and the state.
The inaugural event was attended by District Cultural Development Officer Namrata Bora, along with dignitaries, trainers, trainees, parents, and local residents, according to an official press note.
