According to an official statement, the state-level celebration was organised at the Nyedar Namlo conference hall in B Sector, Itanagar, where representatives from various trade unions, district and state executive members of BMS, and workers from different sectors participated in the day-long programme.

Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Arunachal Pradesh Forest Corporation Limited (APFCL) Chairman Nalong Mize highlighted the importance of recognising and respecting the dignity of labour. “We should understand our duties and perform them with sincerity and commitment. If each of us does our part, we can collectively contribute to building a better state and nation,” Mize said.

He noted that BMS, founded on July 23, 1955, by Dattopant Thengadi, has become one of the world’s largest labour organisations with over one crore members.

“It is a proud day for the labour community across the country. Today, lakhs of workers are celebrating this occasion, reaffirming their commitment to the principles of hard work and nation-first ideology,” Mize added.
