Guru Purnima, celebrated across Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, and Sikh traditions, honours the birth anniversary of Sage Veda Vyasa, the compiler of the Vedas and author of the Mahabharata.
The day signifies deep respect for teachers, mentors, and spiritual guides who impart knowledge and uphold moral values.
Extending the celebrations beyond Itanagar, various BJP leaders and karyakartas participated in spiritual programs at the Mandal, District, and State levels.
These were conducted under the supervision of Dunggoli Libang, Vice President of the State BJP and convenor of the Guru Purnima programme.
As part of the state-wide observance, BJP State Vice President and MLA Zingnu Namchoom visited the Thupten Gatselling Monastery in Itanagar, where he offered prayers and interacted with the monastic community.

The party’s state unit emphasised its commitment to preserving Arunachal Pradesh’s diverse spiritual and cultural traditions.
In its statement, the BJP reiterated the enduring relevance of Guru Purnima as a day not only of prayer but also of reflection on the values of humility, wisdom, and selfless service that Gurus impart to society.
The Arunachal Pradesh BJP’s Guru Purnima observance served as a blend of homage and public service, reinforcing the party’s pledge to uphold the spiritual and cultural heritage of the region while engaging meaningfully with communities across the state.
