APLA holds farewell for retiring mechanic Dilip Sharma

Speaker Tesam Pongte lauds 28 years of dedicated service

ITANAGAR, July 31: A farewell programme was organised at Nokmey Namati Hall in the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly (APLA) Secretariat to honour Dilip Sharma, Mechanic Grade-II, on his retirement after completing 28 years of government service.

The programme, attended by Assembly officials and staff, was graced by Speaker Tesam Pongte, who praised Sharma for his long-standing commitment and dedication to duty.

According to an official statement, Sharma joined the Assembly Secretariat in 1997 as a driver.

Through consistent service and dedication, he rose to the post of Mechanic Grade-II. Known for his diligence and work ethic, Sharma earned the respect of his colleagues and superiors during his tenure.

Speaking at the occasion, Speaker Pongte congratulated Sharma on his retirement and commended his sincerity in serving the institution.

“Shri Sharma’s commitment to his duties is exemplary. We should all draw inspiration from his sincerity. Alongside our professional responsibilities, it is equally important to take care of our mental and physical well-being. Health is the greatest asset a person can have,” the Speaker said.

He extended his best wishes for a healthy, peaceful, and fulfilling retired life to Sharma and acknowledged his role in contributing to the smooth functioning of the Assembly.

Earlier, APLA Secretary Tadar Meena gave a brief career outline of Sharma, highlighting his transition from a driver to a technical role.

She congratulated him on his retirement and lauded his professional integrity, stating that sincere service to the Assembly is a matter of great pride.

The farewell event concluded with expressions of goodwill and warm appreciation from colleagues and staff members, marking an emotional farewell to a longstanding member of the Assembly workforce.
