Bike rally marks Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in Karbi Anglong

DIPHU, Aug 12: As part of the Azadi Ka Maha Utsav celebrations under the Har Ghar Tiranga 2025 campaign commemorating India’s 79th Independence Day, the District Administration, Karbi Anglong, organised a bike rally from Taralangso to Diphu town.

The rally was flagged off by Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Tuliram Ronghang in the presence of KAAC Chairman Raju Tisso, Deputy Chairman Avijit Kro, MLA Bidya Sing Engleng, District Commissioner Nirola Phangchopi, ACS, Superintendent of Police Sanjiv Kumar Saikia, APS, along with other senior officials and dignitaries.

The rally began at 6:00 am from Singmirjeng Achatai, Taralangso, and traversed through Taralangso, Disama, Hidim Teron Gaon, and Manja—where a short stoppage was made for refreshments—before concluding at Karbi Anglong Sports Association (KASA) Stadium.

Over 20 bikers participated, carrying the national flag and spreading the message of unity and patriotism across the district.

Patriotic fervour filled the air as participants, dressed in the colours of the national flag, rode through the streets carrying the tricolour high.

The CEM, in his address, urged everyone to honour the sacrifices of freedom fighters and strengthen the bond of national unity.

He also joined the rally, riding a classic Royal Enfield motorcycle with a pillion rider.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from citizens, youth organisations, and local leaders, marking it as one of the highlights of this year’s Independence Day celebrations in Karbi Anglong.

Later, MLA Bidya Sing Engleng, as chief guest, inaugurated Tiranga stalls at Diphu Amrit Udyan cum Yoga Park as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, in the presence of the District Commissioner and other dignitaries.

Women’s groups put up stalls displaying the tricolour in various sizes for sale ahead of Independence Day. The MLA greeted the SHG members while inspecting the stalls and penned his message about Har Ghar Tiranga in the signature campaign put up outside.
