DAPORIJO, Sept 5: Government Bazar Middle School celebrated its Golden Jubilee on Friday, marking 50 years since its establishment in September 1975.
Attending the event as chief guest, local MLA of Daporijo, Taniya Soki, said the institution had produced several technocrats, bureaucrats, and political leaders over the past five decades.
He stressed the need to restore the school’s past glory through renewed commitment to quality education in line with modern teaching norms and guidelines.
He added that the present government is giving priority and fullest attention to the education sector.
Soki also emphasised the need to recalibrate and improve the school’s infrastructure to meet present-day requirements.
Deputy commissioner Tasso Gambo, who graced the occasion as guest of honour, urged school authorities to sincerely discharge their duties and work with dedication to improve academic performance.
He also called upon students to remain sincere and devoted to their studies to ensure overall excellence.
The celebration was attended by alumni of the school, DDSE Pokter Rime, teachers, students, and other members of the community.
