ITANAGAR, Sept 5: Former State NCP President and former MLA of Yachuli constituency, Likha Saaya, on Thursday late evening underlined the importance of sincerity, dedication, and perseverance for achieving success, while cautioning the youth against the growing menace of drugs.
Speaking as the chief guest at “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa – Papum Pare, Season I,” a talent hunt show held at a city hotel, Saaya told the gathering that “failure is the pillar of success, and success cannot be achieved in a single day.”
He stressed that education, training, and practice are continuous processes and that one day, through commitment and hard work, success becomes inevitable.
“It is not necessary that everyone should go in the same direction or opt for the same profession. It is also not necessary to depend only on government jobs,” Saaya said.
Urging the youth to pursue self-employment, he added, “Always try to become a job giver, not a job seeker. Become self-employed and employ others in your factory, company, business, or production house. There, you can be your own boss and create opportunities for your family members, friends, relatives, and well-wishers.”
He pointed out that the music industry and performing arts hold immense potential as careers.
“Music, dance, drama, and films are also big industries. But in these fields too, you need hard work, practice, and patience. There is no dearth of talent among the youth of our state. Every parent wishes that their children grow up to be good professionals in music, dance, drama, and film. I request the State Government to extend more support to initiatives like Papum Pare Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, which provide valuable platforms to showcase our youth’s talent,” Saaya remarked.
Touching upon the pressing issue of drug addiction, the former MLA warned of its destructive impact.
“Drugs are deadly and they damage the precious lives of our youth. At the same time, they create untold problems for families whose members fall into addiction. I urge the youth of our state to stay away from drugs and never compromise with drug abuse or addiction. Instead, join talent shows, play games, and participate in sports to remain fit and live a healthy and long life,” he said.
“My blessings are with all the youth who are dedicated, hardworking, and committed towards man-making and nation-building,” Saaya added.
Guest of honour, PPA state general secretary and chairman of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Papum Pare, Tana Doll Tara, and secretary Nabam James also spoke on the occasion, appreciating the organisers for encouraging young performers through the programme.
The event was attended by social workers, youth leaders, student leaders, and other invited guests.
Out of 20 contestants, five participants were eliminated in the first round, while 15 advanced to the second elimination stage of the competition.
