KOKRAJHAR, Sept 25: The stage is set for the counting of votes for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections, 2025, which will be held on Friday under heavy security across the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Counting will begin at 8 am in the district and sub-divisional headquarters.
Kokrajhar District Administration has made elaborate arrangements to ensure a smooth, transparent, and impartial process.

The Second Level Randomization of Counting Personnel was conducted on Thursday at the DC’s Conference Hall, supervised by District Commissioner and Returning Officer Masanda M Pertin in the presence of General Observers and other officials.
Personnel were assigned constituency-wise for deployment in the counting halls.
A comprehensive training session for counting supervisors, assistants, Grade-IV staff, and postal ballot counting teams was also held at Kokrajhar University on Thursday.
The first round of training had been conducted on September 18.
District officials reviewed final arrangements with Assistant Returning Officers to strengthen coordination and ensure strict adherence to Election Commission guidelines.
The fate of 316 candidates from major political parties, including ruling UPPL, BJP, BPF, and Congress, will be decided.
While UPPL, BPF and Congress contested all 40 constituencies, BJP fielded candidates in 30 seats of the 40-member BTCLA.
Prominent candidates in the fray include BTR CEM and UPPL president Pramod Boro, Deputy CEM Gabinda Chandra Basumatary, Kampa Borgoyary, Chandan Brahma, Raju Kumar Narzary, Hagrama Mohilary (BPF), Rihan Daimary, Rabiram Narzary, Charan Boro and Rajib Brahma (BJP).
Speaking ahead of counting day, CEM and UPPL chief Pramod Boro exuded confidence that his party would emerge as the single largest majority, securing a second consecutive term in power.
“The common masses have voted in favour of UPPL. We are forming the BTC government again with majority seats,” he said.
