Zonal Karbi Youth Festival gets underway in Dongkamukam

DIPHU, Sept 28: The 33rd Zonal Karbi Youth Festival 2025 commenced on Sunday across Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong and Karbi-inhabited areas of Biswanath Chariali and Sonapur in Kamrup district.

Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the festival of the Dongkamukam Karbi Cultural Society (KCS) Zone at Waisong Stadium, Dongkamukam in West Karbi Anglong.

The inauguration was marked by the traditional Karbi ritual of Bongkrok Arnam Kipu, invoking the blessings of the Almighty.

Organised by the KCS Dongkamukam Zonal Committee, the festival aims to promote and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Karbi community.

Chief executive member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Tuliram Ronghang; MP Amarsing Tisso and several other dignitaries attended the inaugural programme.
