The camp was jointly organised by 2 AP Bn NCC, DDSE Tawang, and the Civil Administration, Tawang, with active support from the Tawang Brigade, under the aegis of the Director of Secondary Education, Itanagar.
The programme saw the participation of around 203 students from 24 districts of Arunachal Pradesh, including 102 NCC cadets, with the rest from NSS and Bharat Scouts and Guides.
The camp aimed to create border awareness, connect the mainland with border areas, celebrate India’s diversity, and build bridges of unity across geography, culture, and community.

As part of the activities, students visited the Indo-China border at Bumla Pass (15,000 ft), where they interacted with soldiers guarding the nation’s frontiers.
They also explored Shungetsar Lake, the iconic Tawang Monastery, Major Bob Kathing Museum, Tawang War Memorial, and the Paramyodha Joginder Singh PVC Memorial at Bumla.
Participants witnessed the Light and Sound Show of the 1962 War, gaining insight into the sacrifices made by the soldiers and the people of Tawang.
These experiences left a deep impression, instilling pride and respect for the armed forces.
The camp included cultural performances, sports events, quiz competitions, extempore speeches, and literary contests, promoting cultural exchange among students and helping them appreciate the rich traditions of different districts.
It also encouraged the development of leadership skills, discipline, courage, and brotherhood.
Students participated in the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan, conducting a cleanliness drive in Tawang and supporting the initiative by chief guest Namgey Tsering, HMLA Tawang, and guest of honour Namgyal Angmo, IAS, DC Tawang, to keep the town plastic-free.
