Lakhimpur, 22 Oct: A worrying trend has gripped Lakhimpur as three children have gone missing within a single month, sparking anger and fear among residents. The rising cases of child disappearance have triggered widespread concern over safety and police efficiency in the district.
The Lakhimpur Traders’ Association has submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police, urging swift action and a thorough investigation into the matter. Locals say the recurring incidents have created a sense of panic, especially among parents and guardians.
The missing children have been identified as Rohan Taye, who went missing from the Maji Bazar Road area near Genius Academy; Ashwanur Ali from the BFC Colony; and Abed Ali from Bantow. Despite being reported promptly, police have yet to trace any leads on their whereabouts.
Families of the missing children allege that even after informing the authorities immediately, no substantial progress has been made in the investigation. The delay and lack of clues have left both the families and the local community deeply frustrated and anxious, as calls grow louder for stronger security measures and accountability from the police.
