KAAC holds 252nd session, approves supplementary demands and appointments

DIPHU, Oct 24: The Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) held its 252nd session on Friday at the KAAC Session Hall, with Chairman Raju Tisso presiding.

The session began with an obituary reference to late Zubeen Garg, where the members observed a one-minute silence in memory of the noted singer, regarded as the voice and pride of Assam.

Chief Executive Member (CEM) Tuliram Ronghang placed several key resolutions and supplementary budget proposals before the house for final approval.

In the meeting, the Executive Committee approved appointments under the Personnel Department.

Sarthe Ronghi has been appointed as District Council Judicial Officer, while Dhoni Son Lekthe and Belcham Teron have been appointed as Additional Judicial Officers.

Micky Teron has also been appointed as Additional Judicial Officer (Crime & Criminology).

The house approved supplementary demands including ₹1,012 lakh under Land Revenue for the Purthimi Akemang Programme, ₹651.10 lakh under Pension and Retirement Benefits (token provision), ₹641.93 lakh under Road Transport for salaries of regularised drivers and ₹1,004.08 lakh under Public Works for salary and vehicle maintenance at ISBT, 5th Mile.

These supplementary grants aim to ensure smooth administration and continued implementation of key development programmes across Karbi Anglong.
