Assam Guv visits Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Nalbari

GUWAHATIAug 18: Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi said that Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are playing a stellar role in providing good quality modern education along with generating awareness of the environment and giving unprecedented physical education to the students belonging to rural areas irrespective of their socio-economic condition.

Visiting Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of Banekuchi in Nalbari district on Thursday, Governor Prof Mukhi said that the school is primarily responsible in affecting academic empowerment of the students including helping them to imbibe a strong component of culture, values and love for the nature.

Prof.Mukhi said, “I am really delighted to have visited and spent some time with the students and teachers of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Nalbari today. Interacting with the students, I am convinced that the students are going to be the real treasure and prospective heirs of the nation which has just completed 75 years of its independence. I, therefore, call upon the teachers and request them to help their students to inculcate the virtues of discipline, diligence and dedication.” He also asked the teachers to train the students to develop good moral character and most importantly the feeling of ‘Nation First’.

Terming the students of the school as the real treasure of the country, the Governor said that the future of the country depends on its students. If the energy of the students is directed to constructive purposes, the whole country will reap rich dividends of it. He, therefore, said that the expectations from the students are very high. In order to meet such expectations, the students will have to be physically, mentally and morally sound.

Prof Mukhi interacting with the students said that they must consider themselves very fortunate to have got the opportunity to study in a school like Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and urged them to pursue their targeted goals with solid willpower, dedication and perseverance. He asked them to fix their target and be focused and keep working towards the goal until they reach there.

He also said that education does not mean career alone. Education in the real sense means overall development of a student which also includes love for his nation. He also said that every Indian has immense responsibility towards the nation and urged upon the teachers to inspire the students to realise their dream conforming with the national interest of the great nation.

Interacting with the teachers, Governor Prof Mukhi said that they can get job satisfaction only when they give their best efforts in giving meaningful education to the students.

Nalbari deputy commissioner Gitimoni Phukan, superintendent of police Nalbari Pabindra Kumar Nath, DC of Jawahar Navodaya Samity Shillong Region KV Suresh, principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Banekuchi Ajit Kumar along with the teachers, staff and students were present during the Governor’s visit to the school.

During his visit to Nalbari district, later the Governor also offered obeisance to Lord Shiva at the historic Billeswar Devalaya in Nalbari, which is believed to be around 2,000 years old. He prayed for the divine blessings of Lord Shiva and Parvati for the welfare of all sections of the people of the society.
