Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met the Prime Minister in New Delhi on Tuesday to extend a formal invitation. The visit, though yet to be officially scheduled, is anticipated to take place in the coming days.

According to the Chief Minister, the new airport terminal will transform Guwahati into a key aviation hub, capable of handling over 13 million passengers annually. The Rs 10,601-crore Ammonia-Urea project at Namrup, meanwhile, is aimed at ensuring a steady fertiliser supply across the North East.

Sharing the update on X, Sarma wrote that both projects represent “transformative steps” for Assam’s connectivity and industrial growth. He added that the Prime Minister has agreed to dedicate the initiatives to the people of the state.
