Agriculture inspection team reviews schemes

MORIGAON, Nov 15: A team of officials inspected the agriculture sector in Morigaon district over a two-day program to review the progress and implementation of schemes under the District Agriculture Department.

Led by nodal officer Pratul Sarma, the team visited multiple agricultural sites, highlighting the progress of various departmental schemes, identifying challenges in implementation and suggesting solutions. On Friday, the team distributed health certificates to farmers at Dalbari under Morigaon Krishi Chakra.

The team also visited Katahguri under Bhurbandha Krishi Chakra to inspect vegetable cultivation by progressive farmers Montu Medhi and Hitesh Deka. The inspection included crops such as capsicum, cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli and paddy cultivated over approximately 20 bighas under departmental schemes. Officials interacted with farmers on production techniques, value addition and market strategies.

The delegation also reviewed the sprinkler irrigation system under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchay Yojana and inspected silage production units, spider manufacturing rooms and related facilities at Charaibahi under the Jaluguti Agricultural Circle. At Habibarngabari under Mikirbheta Krishi Chakra, they examined paddy cultivation under the Atult Scheme and observed seed production processes, machinery and agricultural equipment at the Customs Hering Center. Fertilizer and pesticide shops in Morigaon were also inspected.

The inspection team was accompanied by District Agriculture Officer Tapan Kumar Brahma, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Mehedi Hussain, Senior Agricultural Development Officer Musahid Farooki, Agricultural Development Officer Lona Barua, media expert Gautam Kumar Nath, Agriculture Inspector Rajen Deka and other officers and staff.
