KOKRAJHAR, Nov 23: NTPC Limited, acting as a Nikshay Mitra under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (PMTBMBA), has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the State Health Agency, Department of Health, Government of Manipur, to provide nutritional support to 1,800 tuberculosis (TB) patients and their families across 16 districts.
The partnership aims to enhance the nutritional wellbeing and recovery outcomes of TB-affected individuals, aligning with the national mission to eliminate the disease. As a Nikshay Mitra, NTPC will extend comprehensive nutritional kits and maintain regular engagement with beneficiaries throughout the intervention period.
The initiative is part of NTPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments under Schedule VII (i) of the Companies Act, 2013, which emphasises healthcare and preventive health. It also complements the Government of India’s vision of ensuring equitable healthcare access, particularly in the North Eastern Region.
NTPC Bongaigaon will spearhead the project’s execution, including monitoring, kit distribution and sustained communication with patients.
The MoA was signed by Kengoo Zuringla, CEO of the State Health Agency, Manipur in the presence of Dr Hemlata Thokchom, State TB Officer and Siddhanta Salam, State Programme Coordinator, NTEP Manipur.
Representing NTPC were Arnab Maitra Head of Project NTPC Bongaigaon, V Jayanarayanan Chief General Manager (HR, CSR, R&R & LA), P K Sahu, AGM (CSR) and Amit Kumar Asthana Head of HR, NTPC Bongaigaon along with other officials.
