NAGAON, Aug 20:Â Along with the rest of the state, Nagaon district administration also ceremonially started the distribution of cheques of rehabilitation grant among the 15,200 flood hit families here at a function held at Nagaon district library auditorium on Saturday. The state agriculture minister Atul Bora graced the occasion as the chief guest and ceremonially inaugurated the distribution of cheques of rehabilitation grant in the district.
The minister also ceremonially inaugurated the ‘Orunodoi month’, which will be observed from August 20 to September 20, 2022 in the district.
In a press note issued by district information and public relations department, it was stated that the government ensured 378 beneficiaries with a cheque of Rs 95,100 each for their fully or severely damaged houses while the cheque of Rs 4,100 each were ascertained for 1,830 beneficiaries for their partially damaged huts in the district during the last waves of flood. Besides, cheques of Rs 2,100 each were also ensured for 1,268 beneficiaries whose cattle sheds were partially damaged during the floods in the district.
Meanwhile cheques of Rs 3,200 each were scheduled to distribute among 11,379 beneficiaries for their partially damaged kuchha houses while cheques of Rs 5,200 each were fixed for 345 beneficiaries for their partially damaged pucca houses.
The minister ceremonially distributed the cheques of Rs 95,100 each among five beneficiaries of the district in the programme on Saturday and the rest would be distributed categorically later on by the district administration, the press note added.
Former Union Railway minister for state and senior BJP leader Rajen Gohain, Nagaon DC Narendra Kumar Shah and other officials of the district administration were present in the programme.
