NCHAC holds special session on key financial issues

GUWAHATI, Dec 9: The North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) on Monday convened its 13th Special Session at the Session Hall of the NCHAC Secretariat under the chairmanship of Mohet Hojai. The session focused on key financial matters linked to developmental and administrative activities.

During the meeting, NCHAC Executive Member (Finance) Donpainon Thaosen placed the Supplementary Demand for Grants, seeking approval for an additional allocation of Rs 30 crore to meet emerging financial requirements across various departments for the current fiscal year.

The House also deliberated on the status of unspent SOPD (State Owned Priority Development) funds accumulated between 2015–16 and 2018–19. Members held detailed discussions on the utilisation framework and the need to expedite sanctioned projects to ensure timely implementation and prevent future lapses.

Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Debolal Gorlosa and other council members actively participated, raising questions and offering suggestions on fund management, project execution and financial discipline. The leadership stressed transparent utilisation of resources and strengthening monitoring mechanisms for ongoing works.

The Special Session concluded with assurances that all financial decisions would prioritise the development and welfare of the people of Dima Hasao.
