DIPHU, Dec 15: Dr Pramod Kumar, IRS, Central Prabhari Officer for all three aspirational blocks of Karbi Anglong, on Monday carried out an extensive review of ongoing developmental activities in Rongmongve Block, with a focus on implementation under NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Blocks Programme.
During the visit, Dr Kumar reviewed the functioning of key public institutions including health facilities, schools and various line departments to assess service delivery at the grassroots level.
He interacted with officials to understand on-ground challenges and examined sector-wise progress to ensure that developmental benefits are effectively reaching the intended beneficiaries.
He also held interactions with members of self-help groups and representatives of farmer producer companies, stressing the importance of livelihood enhancement, income generation and sustainable development.
Emphasising community participation, Dr Kumar underlined the role of SHGs and FPCs as crucial drivers of the local economy.
A detailed assessment of funds allocated by NITI Aayog was undertaken, with emphasis on transparency, timely execution and outcome-based planning.
Dr Kumar provided strategic guidance to district and block-level officials, calling for stronger convergence among departments to maximise impact and avoid duplication of efforts.
The review was facilitated by coordinated efforts of the district administration, which ensured active participation of all line departments and effective presentation of block-wise progress and challenges.
Dr Kumar appreciated the proactive role of the administration in enabling meaningful discussions and constructive feedback.
He highlighted that close coordination between the district administration and line departments is vital for accelerating development in aspirational blocks. Dr Kumar is scheduled to visit Nilip Block on Tuesday to conduct a similar review of institutions and developmental initiatives.
