DIBRUGARH, Dec 29: State Cabinet Minister and Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan on Monday laid the foundation stone of an Adarsha Anganwadi Centre at Bairagimath Kachari Gaon in Dibrugarh, marking a step towards strengthening early childhood care and education in the area.
The proposed model Anganwadi centre is aimed at providing a structured, child-friendly and well-equipped facility to support holistic child development.
The centre will focus on key aspects such as nutrition, pre-school education, health awareness and overall well-being, particularly benefiting children from rural and marginalised communities.
Speaking on the occasion, Phukan said Anganwadi centres form the backbone of grassroots-level child welfare initiatives and play a vital role in building a healthy and educated future generation.
He added that the establishment of a model Anganwadi centre in the village is expected to improve the quality of services provided to children and mothers.
Local residents and officials welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that the new facility would create a supportive learning environment and contribute to the social development of the region.
The foundation stone laying was described as an important step towards strengthening child-centric infrastructure and reaffirming the commitment to inclusive and sustainable development in the Dibrugarh constituency.
