The restrictions, imposed on December 22 as a precautionary measure following law and order concerns arising from incidents in neighbouring West Karbi Anglong, had prohibited the assembly of five or more persons and regulated movement of individuals and private vehicles during night hours.

After a review, the district administration said the law and order situation in Karbi Anglong is now normal and under control. In view of the improvement and with the New Year approaching, the District Magistrate ordered the withdrawal of the restrictions from all parts of the district.

The administration has appealed to the public to continue maintaining peace and extend cooperation to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
