As part of efforts to consolidate the party’s base in the hill districts, Assam Pradesh BJP president Dilip Saikia arrived in Donkamokam in West Karbi Anglong on Thursday to spearhead strategic preparations.

During his visit, Saikia held a high-level consultative meeting with party workers and office-bearers from Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts.

The meeting focused on reviewing the BJP’s grassroots strength and chalking out a strategy aimed at securing a decisive victory in the upcoming Assembly elections.

The party leadership reiterated its objective of securing a third consecutive term in Assam while maintaining a strong foothold in the hill regions.

Discussions during the meeting revolved around strengthening booth-level committees, sharpening electoral strategies for a clean sweep in the five Assembly constituencies across the three hill districts, and ensuring close coordination between district leadership and grassroots karyakartas.

Addressing party workers, Saikia credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he described as transformative development in Assam.

He said the BJP government’s inclusive development agenda has given a new direction to the state, ensuring that even remote hilly areas are integrated into the broader national growth process.

He urged the people of Karbi Anglong to continue supporting what he termed the BJP’s journey of development, stating that progress initiated under the vision of Prime Minister Modi has reached every corner of Assam in an impartial manner.

He called upon the electorate to ensure a decisive victory from every booth, targeting wins in all five hill-based Assembly seats.

The Donkamokam visit marks the beginning of a series of intensive election-oriented activities as the BJP prepares to defend its stronghold in the hill districts ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections.
