Baitalangso , Jan 10: Baitalangso Higher Secondary School, one of West Karbi Anglong’s leading educational institutions, hosted a one-day workshop on cutting-edge technologies including artificial intelligence, robot science, aerial systems and Python programming on Thursday.
The workshop aimed to familiarise students with emerging fields shaping the future of science and engineering, moving learning beyond textbooks and into real-world applications.
The training was led by Dr Prabir Baruah, Professor in the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati. He was joined by Hemang Bharali, a fourth-semester student from the Technical Engineering Department, who assisted in conducting practical and interactive sessions.
Students were introduced to the fundamentals of AI and robotics, basic concepts of aerial systems, and hands-on exposure to Python programming, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm among participants.
School authorities said such initiatives help bridge the gap between rural classrooms and advanced technological education, inspiring students to explore careers in science, technology and innovation.
