IAF publicity van flagged off in Jorhat to promote Agniveervayu

JORHAT, Jan 16: A mobile publicity van of the Indian Air Force was flagged off in Jorhat on Friday to create awareness about career opportunities in the IAF and to encourage youths from the North-Eastern region to join the Agniveervayu scheme.

According to a statement received from the District Information and Public Relations Officer, Jorhat, the van was jointly flagged off by Additional District Commissioner Abhijit Gogoi and Group Captain NK Chabba, President of the Central Airmen Selection Board, New Delhi.

The publicity campaign will cover Jorhat, Sivasagar, Charaideo and Namrup in Dibrugarh district of Assam, along with Tirap and Longding districts of Arunachal Pradesh.

The campaign is scheduled to conclude at Longding on January 26.

The registration window for the IAF intake scheduled for January 2027 is open from January 12 to February 1, 2026.

Interested candidates can apply through the official website www.iafrecruitment.edcil.co.in.

Meanwhile, Shiv Shankar Charitable Society, a social organisation, distributed warm clothes to needy people at Tocklai Sawra Basti near Tocklai Tea Garden on Thursday.

As part of its ‘Sneh Ki Chadar’ initiative, the organisation provided sweaters, blankets, chadors and shirts to 49 beneficiaries, including 15 children.
