DIPHU, Jan 22: The Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC) expressed gratitude to residents for the large turnout at the “Notun Bor Ahom” Workers’ Meet in Dengaon, which saw around 15,000 participants. The event featured APCC president Gaurav Gogoi, AICC Senior Observer Bhupesh Baghel and senior leaders Debabrata Saikia and Rokibul Hussain.

KADCC Vice president Jagatsing Engti said the turnout reflects public dissatisfaction with the current administration and a demand for change. He countered BJP claims that attendance was under 1,500, calling them attempts to downplay revived Congress support.

Engti also accused the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council of corruption and mismanagement, citing alleged financial irregularities in the Kajir Ronghangpi Memorial Guest House project funded by the P&RD department.

KADCC leaders confirmed plans to strengthen grassroots outreach through village-level meetings to highlight governance issues and engage with voters ahead of upcoming elections.
