BOKAJAN, Feb 1: A Maruti Suzuki Brezza was completely gutted by a sudden fire on the Four-lane highway at Rongplimplam early Sunday morning around 1:00 AM.
The vehicle (Registration No AS09J3511) belongs to Longki Senar, a resident of Doldoli. The driver, Arkush Marak was traveling from Doldoli toward Golaghat with four passengers when the incident occurred.
As the car reached the Rongplimplam stretch, smoke and sparks emerged from the engine bay. Sensing immediate danger, the driver pulled over, allowing all passengers to escape just moments before the vehicle was engulfed in flames.
“We saw fire coming from the engine and managed to jump out just in time. Everyone is safe, but the car and everything inside were destroyed,” one passenger said.
While no one was injured, the vehicle and personal belongings were completely destroyed. Dillai Police and the Fire Brigade secured the area and extinguished the remaining embers. Preliminary reports suggest a short circuit in the engine may have triggered the blaze. Authorities have registered a case and are investigating.
