TEZPUR, Feb 4: Young performers from Tezpur have brought acclaim to Assam at the Global Theatre Festival held in Cuttack, Odisha, by staging the children’s play “Etukura Megh” (A Piece of Cloud). The production, presented by the Tezpur Theatre Academy, won a total of 10 awards, including Best Children’s Play, Best Language, Best Ensemble, Best Actor and Best Production.
Written by Manas Pratim Bora and directed by Gautam Pathak, Head of the Tezpur Theatre Academy and a regular artiste of Baan Theatre, the play impressed audiences and the jury with its strong performances and artistic presentation.
Among the cast, Ridam Bora was adjudged Best Child Actor, Sonti Bordoloi won Third Best Child Actress, and Nayanika Das received a jury award for semi-classical dance. Other performers included Meghabini Kashyap, Yuvaraj Bora, Katyayani Gautam Pathak, Yuna Barua, Sanskriti Bania and Nistha Bora.
The success has filled Tezpur with pride and further cemented its reputation as a vibrant hub of theatre and cultural excellence.
