GUWAHATI, Feb 8: The Assam government has approved an application submitted by Sia Buildcon, a Jaipur-based construction company, allowing it to undertake development-related works in the state.
The approval was granted at a Cabinet meeting held on Friday, during which the company’s proposal was examined and accepted.
With this clearance, Sia Buildcon will be eligible to collaborate in development-oriented construction activities across Assam.
Officials said the decision comes at a time when several major infrastructure projects are underway in the state under various government initiatives.
These include construction works related to the Gauhati High Court, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), a five-star hotel at Kaziranga, and newly built stadiums. The government believes that the participation of experienced construction firms such as Sia Buildcon will help ensure faster execution and timely completion of large-scale infrastructure projects, thereby strengthening Assam’s overall development momentum.
