International Mother Language Day celebrated in Morigaon

MORIGAON, Feb 21: The International Mother Language Day was celebrated by Morigaon Zila Jatiya Vidyalaya Samanya Rakshi Samiti (MZJVSRS) in collaboration with Barapujia Lalsing Deka Jatiya Vidyalaya and Kapahera Sankar-Madhab Jatiya Vidyalaya at Barapujia on Friday.

The daylong programme kicked off with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by vice president of MZJVSRS, Pulindra Saikia. Thereafter, Principal of Lalsing Deka Jatiya Vidyalaya, Sumitjit Deka, offered floral tributes at the martyrdom memorial. The meeting was chaired by president of the School Management Committee, Kamal Chandra Deka, while the objectives of the event were explained by secretary of MZJVSRS, Biman Hazarika.

The event was attended by Dr Pradeep Kumar Deka, president of Barapujia Sakha Sahitya Sabha, writer Ajanta Sonwal and retired teacher Hemant Kumar Deka. Also present were acting president of MZJVCC, Md Majnu Hussain, Cultural Coordinator Bhaskar Jyoti Hazarika, Hemen Prasad Bardoloi, Anup Lahan and many other dignitaries.
