MORIGAON, March 16: The maternity operation theatre at the Mother and Child Health Wing of Morigaon Civil Hospital became operational on Monday, marking a significant step towards strengthening maternal healthcare services in the district.
The facility began functioning with the successful conduct of its first caesarean section surgery by the hospital’s medical team.
To mark the occasion, Morigaon Deputy Commissioner Anamika Tewari and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Health) Nitisha Bora visited the hospital and interacted with doctors and nursing staff.
They were accompanied by In-charge Joint Director of Health Services Sailendra Bardhan Bora and hospital superintendent Jitendra Kr Nath.
Officials said the newly operational theatre is expected to significantly enhance safe delivery services and strengthen maternal and child healthcare facilities for the people of the district.
Deputy Commissioner Anamika Tewari congratulated the medical team for successfully conducting the first caesarean section in the new operation theatre and appreciated their efforts in improving healthcare services in the district.
