Dibrugarh MLA gets ticket for fifth consecutive time

DIBRUGARH March 19: Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan got ticket for fifth consecutive times from Dibrugarh constituency. Speculations ended after BJP have announced the tickets for the upcoming assembly polls.

Prasanta Phukan is one of the senior and prominent leaders in BJP. Phukan is quite popular among the people and people of Dibrugarh liked him for his jovial nature.

Party workers and his supporters already started celebration before party ticket was announced.

In the 2021 assembly polls, Prasanta Phukan won the Dibrugarh seat by a margin of 38005 votes against Congress candidate Rajkumar Nilnetra Neog.

Speaking to reporters, Assam Power Minister and 4-time Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan thanked CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and senior party leaders for conferring him the party ticket to contest the upcoming Assembly elections from Dibrugarh for the 5th consecutive time.

 He said that he will work for the further development of Dibrugarh which has been projected as the second capital of Assam.
