Adani Group outlines growth strategy focused on dignity, livelihoods and faster execution

GUWAHATI, May 2: Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, on Saturday outlined a growth strategy centred on worker welfare, local employment and entrepreneurship while addressing around 3,000 workers and employees at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport on the occasion of International Labour Day.

Highlighting the role of workers in nation-building, Adani said the Group’s progress would be measured not only by assets created but also by livelihoods generated and communities strengthened.

“You are not just employees, you are nation builders. When we complete a project, we are shaping the future of the country,” he said.

The Group announced that it will prioritise local hiring at project sites, offering employment opportunities first to nearby communities, followed by candidates from within the state and then from outside, if required.

Worker welfare was highlighted as a key pillar of the strategy.

The company is developing air-conditioned accommodation for 50,000 workers in Mundra and Khavda, along with a centralised cloud kitchen in Gujarat capable of serving up to 100,000 meals daily.

“This is not a privilege. It is a necessity. Every worker has the right to live and work with dignity,” Adani said.

The strategy is anchored in three pillars—worker welfare, stronger partnerships and skill development—supported by robust liquidity and capital access to accelerate project execution.

A new three-layer organisational structure is being introduced to streamline decision-making and enhance accountability, reducing delays at project sites.

Adani also spoke about strengthening partnerships with contractors by working with a smaller number of large, reliable partners to improve coordination and execution speed.

“We don’t just want to sign contracts, we want to build long-term partnerships,” he said.

Highlighting grassroots entrepreneurship, he cited examples of local partners who have grown alongside the Group’s projects, generating employment and economic activity in their regions.

The third pillar focuses on training and development through upcoming Adani skill centres, aimed at helping workers transition from unskilled roles to supervisory and leadership positions.

Linking major infrastructure projects such as Mundra Port, the Khavda renewable energy park, Navi Mumbai International Airport and the Ganga Expressway to national progress, Adani said these initiatives are strengthening India’s logistics, energy and infrastructure backbone.

“These projects are not just assets. They are instruments of national progress,” he added.

The measures, he said, are aimed at building a more agile, inclusive and execution-driven organisation aligned with India’s long-term growth ambitions.
